Due to on-going student requests, Explanations Unlimited hires
year-round, and is currently looking for enthusiastic instructors to provide private lessons to our clients.

Popular tutoring requests include: Mathematics, Sciences, English, French Immersion, Entrance Exam Preparation, & Special Education.

As an educational institution certified by the federal government, Explanations Unlimited has been providing private tutoring in clients' Toronto-area homes and workplaces since 1980. We offer instruction in all academic subjects, from Kindergarten - University, and Adult Upgrading. Our instructors teach part-time, and travel to their clients' preferred location, by car or TTC.

Tutors may choose which subjects they prefer to tutor, what cities or suburbs they would like to service, and the days & times they prefer to teach.

IDEAL CANDIDATES:

  • Have completed a recent 4 yr. Bachelor's Degree, or higher, with a minimum "B" Average
  • Have excellent spoken English skills
  • Are passionate about teaching, and are motivated self-starters
  • Have expertise in particular subject area(s), such as: English/Language Arts, French (Core or Immersion), Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Entrance Exam Preparation, or Study & Organizational Skills
  • Have expertise in some or all of the following grades/levels: Primary, Junior, Intermediate, Senior, College, University, or Adult Education
  • Are familiar with the current Ontario Ministry of Education Curriculum Guidelines
  • Are willing to travel to students' homes or workplaces to provide private, customized lessons
  • Are available to teach part-time (typically, after-school, evenings, or weekends) in Toronto &/or surrounding regions, such as: Aurora, Barrie, Brampton, Etobicoke, Markham, Mississauga, Newmarket, North York, Oakville, Oshawa, Pickering, Richmond Hill, Scarborough, Thornhill, Whitby, & Woodbridge
  • Are available to begin immediately

ASSETS:

  • Ontario Teaching Certificate
  • Previous experience teaching or tutoring
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • Additional teaching qualifications, such as Special Education or Reading Specialist
  • Bilingual (English/French)

COMPENSATION:

COMPETITIVE HOURLY WAGES, PLUS BONUSES. Base hourly rate commensurate with academic qualifications, previous experience, and scope of Job Description.
